[insufficient data] Weird texture bug in full screen

Post by jflkbob »

I am not sure what is going on, but this may have something to do with it:
"r_opengl: no valid pixel formats found. retrying in compatibility mode"
That pops into the console when I start a game in full screen. The textures look like this in full screen at first:

But, if I go windowed, then full screen again, it looks fine:

Any ideas?

1.) Why can't anyone read the guidelines I made sticky at the top of the bugs forum? Here they are: http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=253 . A warning: The next bug report with a hardware issue but no hardware specs gets dumped on sight. I won't be bothered anymore by this constant ignorance.
2) What's 1.0.25? Last time I checked the latest version was 1.0.21.

I have the same problem with textures. It happens when starting GZDoom with -warp or in multiplayer mode and resolution of your desktop differs from GZDoom resolution.

Graphics: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series 32 mb
CPU: Intel Celeron M 1.60GHz 224mb RAM
Driver version: I don't know =)

Since I still have no hardware specs and the message indicates that the graphics hardware is old I am closing this.

@Sasha X: Your system and graphics card are way below the recommended specs so I see no point investigating your problem. Try reducing the texture quality in the menu and if that fails check your graphics card's settings.

That Radeon model is rather dated, try messing around with different texture formats and all the settings in the GL options as well. I've had a weird issue with Map 02 of Zen Dynamics randomly turning all red in certain spots, turning off "Smooth sprite edges" fixed it.
