Weapon Switch

If you have the SSG in doom2 and do not have the shotgun, and pick one up, the game switches to the SG. Is this normal behaviour? I thought doom never switched to a lower powered weapon if you had a higher powered weapon selected. Latest version of GZDoom

No, Doom always switches on weapon pickup, although it can be turned off in the options.

Ok, guess I just never noticed it before. I guess all maps have a shotgun before the SSG
