[fixed] Firemace bug in Heretic?

Having not played vanilla Heretic since its original demo release, I'm wondering if this is the intended behavior while using a tomed Firemace. If you hold down the primary attack key, it only fires out one gigantic iron sphere and then switches back to the original, untomed attack while still consuming the same amount of ammo as the tomed mode. It seems the only proper way to fire the tomed mace is to tap the button, which is really inconvenient.

I thought the tomed Firemace only fired gigantic iron spheres when the primary attack is held down, just at a slower pace than the untomed mode?

I'm also curious about inventory items. Are inventory item counts supposed to be reset when you enter a new level? In other words, if you picked up five of every item, why do you start the next level with only one of each?

The Firemace's behavior is indeed quite wrong. As for the inventory items, I know that's supposed to be ZDoom's default method (as Hexen is supposed to reduce you to one of each inventory item upon travelling to a new hub), but I can't remember if that's what's supposed to happen in Heretic.

It's a bug that got into the code when I added custom states. Due to the new handling I had to remove the hold attack state from most weapons and I accidentally deleted one too many.
