GZDoom crashes for me when I play it in Doom mode as soon as a Zombieman fires in MAP01 or as soon as I do fire.

Doesn't do that for me, but I am aware of another "instacrash" situation that has already been reported.

If you have particles set to "square" in the options, then GZdoom will crash when particles appear. If you, or a zombieman are shooting, that could create particles and cause the crash. Check your options and set particles to smooth or round if they are currently set for square and try again.
