Zportal crash + texture problems

Post by Cutmanmike »

Sent you the wad.

First of all MAP01 crashes and I can't identify why. Was working fine in the previous version. Lemmie know if you're not getting the crash and i'll send the dump.

Edit: Map04 crashes after like exactly 2 seconds of running it. Is this related to that fmod problem?

Edit: Map05 crashes after the music starts. I'm concluding this a problem with the music :P

Secondly, on MAP02 (and some other maps I imagine) i'm still getting that screwed up texture bug. Here's a screen of what's happening.

That's the type of bug report that is perfectly useless to me. Always assume that you are the only one getting a problem - and then report it in a way that can be used to track it down. This and your second post doesn't help me at all.

It seems it isn't just my music that's effected too. MAP06 crashes after a few seconds too.

hmm, it mostly happens for me when picking something up or using a switch. but it crashes when just running too sometimes...

[EDIT] yea, seems like when using switches or opening doors it crashes...

[EDIT] ok it seems like it has something to do with the Lowerfloor thing, because if you go press the button in map01 where the 4 platforms lower it crashes every single time.

this happens in map07 too when pressing the start switch...

Pretty sure it isn't anything to do with what you do, even standing still does it. Btw i've seen that texture problem happen on Doom2 maps now so downlading Zportal won't be necessary (unless you did already)

Stupid little thing. I forgot to copy one line of code from the latest ZDoom changes. Too bad it's something absolutely crucial. The version as it is is useless.

For the texture problems try 'toggle gl_clamping_bug'. It may help.

Heh don't worry, we all do stupid crap like that.

Edit: Yes! that fixed the texture problem. What's up with that eh? Are others going to have to toggle it?

I can't switch it on. It totally breaks down performance on my system (Vista with GF8600) and if all went properly constantly setting texture clamping info would not be necessary.

The issue is that texture clamping is supposed to be set and stored per texture but apparently some drivers only store it globally. It seems to be a driver bug.

I think I set the default to 1 because its need appears to be more widespread than I anticipated.
