r295 Can't teleport onto a 3D floor

Post by Enjay »

This is actually a 2 part bug. Part 2 may be from Zdoom.

Part 1:
It is now impossible to teleport onto a 3D floor. The attached file demonstrates the problem. MAP01 has a 3D floor with a top surface of 128 units height. There is a z-height teleport spot at 136 units in the sector. Jump into the teleport and you appear at the height of the spot, them immediately fall through the floor. Summon an enemy and entice him into the teleport and he will do the same.

Part 2:
To test the bug using more extreme parameters, I raised the height of the ceiling and placed the teleport landing at 768 units tall (MAP02). However, when you teleport, you seem to be teleported to the height of the 3D floor then fall through it as before. ie, there is no indication that you ever were near 768 units tall.

To test it further, I tried the map in Zdoom and in both maps, when you teleport, you seem to land immediately at height 0. ie, there is no indication that you were ever at 136 or 768 units high. I don't know if this is because you instantly fall to the nearest floor, or if there is something wrong. Anyway, regardless of this, the main purpose of this report is to say that you can't teleport onto a 3D floor because you always fall through it.

In 1.1.6, in both maps, you land on the 3D floor and do not fall through. However, even in 1.1.6 in map02, there is no indication that you teleport to 768 units up as you seem to appear immediately at the height of the 3D floor.

Fixed 1.

2. is not a bug. That teleport destination is subject to gravity and falls down. If you want to teleport into the air, use 9044, not 9043.
