screen rotates on exit, no recovery
How do I prevent the screen from rotating, when I exit from the game, in Windows Vista? It's frustrating, having to deal with that, every time I get killed.

The screen isn't supposed to rotate. It doesn't for me (and I have Vista, too).
Can you elaborate? Does it happen when you die in the game or when you quit GZDoom? You say it happens when you exit but also that have to deal with it every time you get killed, so it's unclear what you mean exactly. (Unless you ragequit every time you die I guess.)
We'd also need to know what version of GZDoom you are using -- the latest official version (1.5.6 IIRC), an SVN build, something older? If you're not using a recent SVN build, try to check if it still happens with the latest one. It would also probably be useful to know what video hardware you have -- ATI, Nvidia or Intel GMA, GPU model, driver version, etc.
Also, could you provide screenshots of the phenomenon? If it's a problem that happens after GZDoom is closed, you can do screenshots in Windows by pressing the PrintScreen key, then opening Paint and hitting Ctrl-V. Then save the image as a PNG and upload it on imgur or something like that.
Finally, have you tried to check if the same problem happens with ZDoom too?

Re: screen rotates on exit, no recovery
I wonder what he means by "rotates". My natural initial reaction would be some sort of Duke Nukem-like tilting effect but seeing as how GZdoom doesn't do that, I wonder if he means something else - like possibly rotates/cycles between GZdoom and other active programs (like alt-tab) or something?

When you die, you fall to the ground and your eyes see things from a ninety degree tilted point of view. I exit the game and my desktop maintains this view, until I go to my Control Panel and adjust the Resolution under the Display Settings tab. How can I force the Doom game to reset the default view on exit?

GZDoom does nothing of this kind. I have absolutely no idea what's going wrong on your system.

The only Doom port I've used that rotates the view when you die is Vavoom.

Impossible bug with no more feedback. I'm going to assume the OP confused GZDoom and Vavoom and close this.
