I always unzip a new svn version into a new folder. Because of this I copy the ini file from the previous folder. However, from time to time, I let GZDoom generate the ini file, just in case something new was added or something was changed. So, r1415 was this ' from time to time' case.
Gzdoom came up with the usual warning that
Execution could not continue.
Cannot find a game IWAD (doom.wad, doom2.wad, heretic.wad, etc.).
Did you install ZDoom properly? You can do either of the following:
1. Place one or more of these wads in the same directory as ZDoom.
2. Edit your zdoom-username.ini and add the directories of your iwads
to the list beneath [IWADSearch.Directories]
zdoom-username.ini is generated, ... but it is empty.
Being curious, I checked back and found that this started happening after r1388.

Re: question about ini file
I really doubt this is an issue specific to GZDoom. That corresponds to a change that happened in ZDoom after r3631.

Re: question about ini file
Fixed when ZDoom r3737 was ported to GZDoom.
