Something I've been thinking about... GZDoom renders everything within the player's direct view, I'm guessing. But that also includes everything off to the very back of the area. This, in places, can have a large impact on framerate. For example, in the city map I made, framerate can go as low as ~40 FPS when lookng across the whole map. So, something that might help those with lower end systems is user definable draw distance, probably best done in 10s or 100s of map units, in the menu. Either that, or as a user definable cvar in the console. Of course, I could be wrong about map units, but it just seems like having a draw distance limit could help framerates in some places. Maybe even make it definable in MAPINFO or something.
Just a thought.
Draw distance cvar/menu option?
