[RES] [G] WW 2 Guns

Post by Snarboo »

I recently downloaded a demo for a WW 2 game called Deadly Dozen, and was surprised that it was actually pretty good, having heard little about it. The graphics are pretty dated by today's standards, but the graphics are generally detailed well enough without being too polygon heavy. I thought it might be cool to rip some of the weapons, as they had a good amount of detail thanks to the skin without being too complex or crazy. So I did!

I present to you the fruits of my labor, a small pack of graphics that include 3 weapons. They are:
  • Colt 1911 - Two frames, one looking at the sky and another at the ground, allowing you to see different parts of the weapon. Reload graphics were not captured because the animation was very simple and uninteresting.
  • M1 Garand - Two frames, taken in the same way as the Colt. Also does not include reload graphics for the same reasons.
  • Thompson Submachinegun - Includes an idle frame and a bunch of reload frames. This is definitely the best weapon in the pack.
You will need to add your own hands to these, as the ones that were holding the weapons are all that's included. The graphics might need some tweaking before use, such as adding animation to the pistol and garand, but are otherwise ready to use. I am thinking about ripping some of the other weapons from the game, such as the Springfield rifle and the german weapons, but we'll see. Enjoy!

So, in the German weapons, what kind of pistol is used? (has never heard of Dirty Dozen)

I haven't been able to get very far in the demo level as it's a very difficult and tactical game. That and the AI seems to have an unnatural ability to know where you are after you start firing at them, even if you are hiding in brush, far away or in a hidey hole. :/ I did see an officer carrying a pistol, and it looked like a Luger P08, as opposed to a Walther. Unfortunately, I died shortly after that, so I wasn't able to pick it up to confirm. I'm probably going to look for cheat codes so I can just run through the level killing everything, then taking screenshots of the weapons.

There's also a sequal to Deadly Dozen that takes place in the Pacific Theater. Besides probably having Japanese weaponry, the graphics seem to be much improved. I might recapture some of the weapons here so there's more variety of graphics to choose from for things like the Thompson and so on.

I was going to rip the guns from Deadly Dozen 2 - Pacific Theater once I have installed it, yes. They look so much better than the weapons in Deadly Dozen 1, and there is more of them, which include some Japanese ones. Currently, I'm playing another game, and I don't like to play more than one game at a time so I become too distracted.

Actually, nevermind on that request. The company's vietnam shooter looks nice, so i'll see if I can rip from that.

Do NOT download Elite Warriors: Vietnam, as that doesn't have view weapons. Line of Sight: Vietnam does, however. Random, but LoS is a pretty good game, heh.

Saw by the screens, so don't fret.

EDIT: gah, is there a screenshot button for this game?
