[no]direct 3d
I think gzdoom should be able to use direct 3d also and opengl

How about 'Too much work'?
I have spent almost 3 years spread over the last 6 years to get the renderer to the point where it is now and I'd rather invest the time to make better use of modern cards' features rather than supporting fallback solutions for old ones.
You may do the math and get an estimation when you would have a working D3D version.
