1.0.24 vid_restart crashes in game

I was trying to help torq95 at the zd fourms running zombi.zip and I was trying to change some optinons to figure out if the problem was option releated. I don't know where this came from, but I thought I had to do a Vid_restart to make some options work, however it crashed. Crashlog Attached.

Yeah, I know this problem but I can't find the cause.

That's why you can't change renderers at the moment.

I disabled the command for now because obviously it doesn't work.
