[r129] Stretched Textures / Flat

Post by Hellraiser777 »

Dunno how to explain this, but on certian maps (map 07 from DooM 2), the flats (and earlier, the textures) were stretched. Heres the screenshot of the ceiling in Map07 stretched.

Dunno how to explain this. System specs:

Pentium D 2.80 GHz (Dual Core)
2GB Ram (1GBx2)
nVidia GeForce 8600 GT
Windows Vista Home Premium

I was running no additional pwads while taking the screenshot.

I can't see your screenshot (filters at my work block imageshack) however it sounds from the description very much like a well known bug. Try typing the following at the console

gl_clamping_bug 1

and see what happens.

That fixed the issue, thanks Enjay.

Graf should find a way to fix this.

The weird thing is, I also use Vista and the same card - and I can leave this CVAR set to 0 without any problem. In fact, when I set it to 1 I get a major performance hit. What drtiver version are you using?

Hmm, checking now. 175.16, basicly, May 2008 driver. I haven't updated yet. I should though.

I'll try updating and turning off the GL_Clamp, and see what happens.

Edit:
Same thing, and thats with June 23rd drivers. I'll give any other info.

.. also, it occured to me, could it be the 16:10 resolution? Considering DooM was made for the 4:9 resolutions, i.e. :320x200 / 640x480. And I'm running on 1680x1050?

Edit Edit:
Also, one more thing. Could this relate to GZDooM freezing up when I load it up? After it does the "Int. Load", as I call it (Checking Daemon, player 1 of 1, ect), after it displays "Player 1 of 1", and about to go into the game, it freezes over. I have to either right click on GZDooM to close the now Not Responding program, or cntrl+alt+del.

Could be my system *shrugs*
