Just got Win 7 and my GZDoom has randomly shut down my comp

Anyone else have this issue? When this happens it usually occurs in the 1st 5 seconds. I've had it happen like 3 times but most days it runs perfect. I've also noticed now that it just happened that I had a dual monitor setup. Anyone else have this issue? Should I run this on compatibility mode?

Ok I believe I pinpointed the problem. I was ran GZDoom with just the regular DOOM 2 wad and zero problems. Then I loaded up my WAD and bam restarts as soon as I enter a level. So then I removed the DOOMDEFS lump and it worked fine. So it's something to do with my graphics card all F'ed up. I went straight to Nvidia.com to download the proper up2date drivers for my graphics card, GeForce 7900 GTX. Either by somehow my I got the wrong drivers or by coincidence while I upgraded to Win 7 my graphics card has started to fail. I got this card May of 06 and it's never really giving me any problems...so my next step is to uninstall the drivers and try again.

More comp specs needed (video card, CPU, etc).

I don't believe GZDoom requires any compatibility mode... it seems to be an issue specific to your system.

You just got a new OS. Did you install up-to-date drivers or did you leave the ones that were packaged in with it? Stuff like blue screens and shutdowns are not normally possible by an application; it just doesn't have the access rights to do so. So it's presumably the graphic driver (the usual culprit) that's doing something bad.

Yeah I was just playing and it happened again. This time I got one monitor setup and I noticed it happened after I typed in "idfa" real fast. I have a GeForce 7900 GTX with the latest drivers so I don't think it's due to the graphic drivers. I don't get a blue screen, it just restarts like someone hit reset. When I installed Win 7 home prem, it was the upgrade from Win XP so it pretty much wiped out the original OS. Honestly I've never had an issue like this hehe. I'll do some more research.

This is more likely an issue where you failed to uninstalled the XP drivers and then install NVidia's Windows 7 drivers.

You simply don't want to run XP drivers on Windows 7, hence your problem.

Upgrade installs are problematic if you don't allow it to format the system.
