[no] Health etc colours for AltHUD

Post by Enjay »

Just a minor cosmetic one here...

I know you can specify at which values tha various blue/green/yellow/red colours activate in the health/armour displays for the AltHUD. However, I don't think you can specify which colours get displayed at these values.

It'd be nice, but by no means essential, if the actual colours used could be tailored too.

The colors are chosen by their common meaning:

red = bad
yellow = critical
green = good
blue = very good (like Doom's blue items

Would you really like to see orange for good or brown for bad? ;)

Not really, and in general they make sense, but I have played mods where the blue armour has been recoloured to be something else, so I thought it might be quite nice to set it to reflect that. I'm really not bothered though. It was just a thought.

Oh, and as a totally unrelated side question, I've been wondering - how long does it take to compile a GZdoom executable? Assuming everything is set up and error free, how long between clicking "Compile" (or whatever you do) and having a working exe sitting there ready to go? Is it seconds, minutes, hours? My guess is that it won't be too long, but I've seen people talk about it as if it does take quite some time, so I'm just curious.

A complete rebuild that compiles every single file takes about 6 minutes to compile. But a development build where a fraction of the files is recompiled normally takes 1-2 minutes.
