Additive Translucency Too Bright at Lower Alpha

Post by NeuralStunner »

When Alpha is less than 1.0, GZDoom renders Additive blending too bright.

Screenshot:

Same frame (they were summoned with Freeze active). The one on the left has an Alpha of 1.0, the one on the right has an Alpha of 0.9999 - And you should be able to see that it's blended way too brightly. It becomes most noticably when there are greens in the sprite color.

I have the micro-mod I tested this with, which I can upload if needed.

This is not a bug. Due to visual issues I use a different blending mode for bright items with an alpha of 1.0.

A'ight. I happen to like it better, anyway. Good to know it won't change. ;)
