Lights Mode in "Software" is not set when you start gzdoom
if Lights Mode is set to "Software" you'll note the ambiente light likes software render, if you close gzdoom, start it again and dont touch the lights mode config, if you start any map, it'll be start with the wrong light mode (I think it's the Doom light mode), if you check the light mode you'll note it's set to software, but if you change it to any light mode and move back to software mode, you'll notice that the mode before wasn't actually software mode)

Re: Lights Mode in "Software" is not set when you start gzdo
UPDATE: Well, it's not when gzdoom starts, it's when you start a new map, so if you set it to software ingame, and start again the same map, the light will be set to doom

Are you saying that the value for
in the gzdoom-user.ini file changes to
simply by running a map a second time and without you changing it manually or it being changed through another cfg file?
Code: Select all
[Doom.ConsoleVariables]
gl_lightmode=8 // Software
Code: Select all
[Doom.ConsoleVariables]
gl_lightmode=3 // Dark

Re: Lights Mode in "Software" is not set when you start gzdo
no, what I mean, when gzdoom start, gl_lightmode will be set to 8 (doom light mode is 2), but when you start the map, it'll looks like it's using the option 2 and not 8, changing 8 to another number and set it back to 8 will show the difference...
UPDATE about it: Idk what's going on, I can't repeat this bug
At least, I still have a vídeo that shows what happened: https://youtu.be/pAUW5Yz7SYU?t=23s
note that it was set to software, and t he map was bright, changing from software to something else and going back to software made it change to the correct lightmode

Can't reproduce.
It works fine for me in all cases I tested.
