GZDoom crashes on Windows 10 (opengl driver not accelerated error)

Post by Guest »

Hey there.

To be honest, I only just dusted off my copy of Ultimate Doom Collection (the retail release that came out the same time as Doom 3), and I was using Doomsday to get it to run on my Windows 10. But since I can't get mods to work with it, I tried using GZDoom so I can run the game with mods. However, every time I tried, I get a "opengl driver not accelerated" error, and the game will not run. I tried to use an older version, but that was a total crash.

It also seems to screw with my monitor as well, as I also get an error message from windows says that the resolution isn't "optimal" for my monitor display.

So... how dose that help me fix the problem? I see no line of code like that in the Configuration Settings file.

You aren't providing nearly enough information - no one has a clue what's going on inside your system, all you're saying is "it doesn't work." That's about as helpful as when you go to a movie theater, you see all the trailers before the movie, and suddenly everything stops, and all you hear is, "sorry ladies and gentlemen, it doesn't work."

This link should give you somewhere to start: http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6762

My system has Pentium CPU B950 @ 2.GHz. I was initially using the Version 2.1.1 64-bit build, which gives me the error message. When I tried to use the 1.9.1 build, I get a total program crash.

This is the screen I get when I try to run Version 2.1.1.

What happens when you run it on 1.9.1?

I'm having this problem too. I have searched on many places but I couldn't find an answer.

If you are using integrated Intel graphics you need to use this tool to patch GZDoom executable. These complexities are caused by a bug in Intel drivers.
If not, probably you have to install video drivers by downloading them from vendor's site, not from the Windows Update.
