Playing around with PSP
Thanks to NMN aka Paul, I learnt the basics of paint Shop Pro and so I decided to try my skills in sprite editing. I used numerous different techniques to later find them not-yet-on-my level, however we all know that one can't learn something, if they don't try. So here's my first attempt at cutting, pasting, scaling, rotating and using layers:
The Fusion Cannon:
Used elements:
-Doom Plasma Rifle
-Doom Super Shotgun
-Doom Hand
-Hacx Reznator
-Hacx Nuker (that tan cable on the left)
-Hacx leg (that plays the role of an arm here...)
-Pieces of Star Trek Doom weapons.
-Pieces of ROTT launchers

Hmm, yeah, I overdid the pipes. They were supposed to release hot steam, but taking into account that hot steam would land directly on your face - I think I'm gonna cut the pipes.Cutmanmike wrote:Apart from the obvious super shotgun pipes that looks pretty cool. Mind if I use these or not?
Of course you can use it if you want. I'll be coming back soon with some more edits.

Moved to the armory.
That's where it belongs.
And I've put the weapon into a WAD. It still has the nifty barrles pointing upwards, tho.
EDIT: Update, early shots of an assault rifle:
Used elements:
-Doom Alpha rifle
-Hacx Leg
-Hacx Nuker
-ROTT flamethrower
-pieces of TDA's Incendinary Shell Launcher found in WRW.WAD; NMN told me where it was originally from... but I forgot

Early shot on my pistol. The weapon itself isn't changed much (yet), but I worked for a few minutes on the arms, so now I have the desired result:
Pistol, White Gloves and Tuxedo Sleeves:
Used elements:
-ROTT launcher
-piece of pistol from CT-Beris.wad (CT stands for ChronoTeeth, right?)
-Doom hands
-Hacx leg... muahahaha

IMO, the assault rifle needs something done to make the barrel look less obviously like the Doom Alpha rifle simply pasted on top of the ROTT flamethrower. Something to blend it in somehow. Other than that, it looks a very promising weapon - as does the pistol, even if the arms are made from miscellaneous body parts Dr. Frankenstein.

The assault rifle needs either the barrel to be orange, or the other parts of it to be gray-scaled. That would add consistency.
The pistol is fine, but a bit fatty (wide). Reminds me of Blake Stone's weapons.
Nice weapons there mr Z. You got some real promise

That's true, we'll see into it.Enjay wrote:IMO, the assault rifle needs something done to make the barrel look less obviously like the Doom Alpha rifle simply pasted on top of the ROTT flamethrower.
But these are still early shots. I'm planning on having alternate versions of all Doom weapons, so when they come as a collection, they won't be that obvious.
Thank you, Rennfield.Enjay wrote:it looks a very promising weapon - as does the pistol, even if the arms are made from miscellaneous body parts Dr. Frankenstein.
I'm just trying my best, to get something different than another pair of bare arms ended with black gloves. So I came up with the Tuxedo experiment
Compared to the fusion Cannon and the rifle which both are rather enormous, it still looks like a toy. It will be modified, but rather to make it even a bit larger. Who doesn't like _BIG GUNS_ ?Paul wrote:The pistol is fine, but a bit fatty (wide).
