WW-Stranger broken?

Post by GentryXaties »

I just recently tried to run The Stranger mod in the latest version of GZDoom, and it doesn't seem to work at all.

I'm currently running 1.0.16 - 2.1.1 and when I run the file (with or without other WAD files, levels, etc.,) all I get is this error...
Script error, "DECORATE" line 1159
Expected '{', got 'mmcasing'.
Here also is the console dump it gives me, if this will help anyone figure this out... though it does seem fairly standard to me.

(EDIT: Actually, it would appear to be some sort of alteration in the decorate code of GZDoom itself, as none of the WW mods are working quite to par. BSNI's heater rifle doesn't cool down as expected, and I'm sure multiple other bugs in multiple other decorate mods will be found sooner or later =P)

Heh, you beat me too it. I also discovered this shortly after 2.1.0 was released, and was going to post it.

It's missing a bracket I believe, although I kinda suck when it comes to these things.

No, that's a known issue - if you have a previous version of GZDoom, downgrade to that. It's fixed for the next version and it's caused by the periods in one of the projectile names (if you want to fix it yourself, just rename all instances of "5.56mmCasing" in the decorate lumps).

As for BSNI, I know about this issue as well and I have fixed it. I'm reuploading the wad as I type this.

The only bummer about downgrading versions of GZDoom is that the level I wanted to play with BSNI (ie., Sapphire) doesn't work in .13, or .14, or whatever the damned version is that I downgraded to. I can't even remember now. :P
