[incorrect hardware settings] Odd texture "scaling"

Post by wildweasel »

I was testing a map that I made with GZDoom and noticed that in certain positions, the textures would randomly double in scale based on where I was looking. I'm not using any texture-scaling stuff on the lines in question, and I feel the effect is best demonstrated with these two screenshots:

(AFTER)

My best guess is that this is related somehow to the TX_ system. This happens in other parts of the map as well.

I can email you a link to the map by request but I'm not posting it here.

If you are using an NVIDIA card, try setting the image quality setting (NVIDIA control panel, Performance & Quality Settings page) to High Quality. I had the same problem with Zen Dynamics and Void until I changed the setting.

Hmph...I wonder why that knob got turned down. I suppose this can be marked under stupidity.

It was on the second-to-lowest setting in the NVIDIA properties. I might have done that on purpose to make some random game run better.

I also noticed that when it is on the lowest setting, some textures have color bleeding, like a badly compressed JPEG image.
