Yeah, my current rig's power supply sucks. I'll drop by the store one day and pickup something better just so that I don't feel I've wasted money buying the ATI 9550. I mean I'd rather just plug it in and use it rather than throw it away.
Once my new rig arrives, I'll probably install Windows 98 or something on this rig so I can play old games on it.

I have a Ati Radeon 9700 Pro since many years, and I'm absolutely happy with it.
The only problems encountered were because of MY huge stupidity (the CCC must remain loaded in the memory, Via drivers not reinstalled after a crash of my computer)!!!
Plus, the latest drivers have introduced a new awesome feature: the "Temporal anti-aliasing", getting rid of any pixelized line.
No more hideous pixels on lines, no matter their angle.

This card must be cheap today (I buyed it something like 480$ 4 years ago, and I found on ebaY prices around 70$)

I just installed a GeForce 6800GS AGP... I must say I'm very happy with Sapphire running 60 FPS almost all the way through the map.
Only *some* parts slow just a little bit...
It's ironic too because I seem to be able to play Silent Hill 4 at 1024 x 768 with full FPS. o_O
Oh and hardware shaders = niiiiiiiiiiiiiice... Graf will we get to make our own custom shaders?

Probably not. The current shaders are more or less experimental anyway because the hardware support is far too limited. Using shaders means that the normal rendering pipeline is completely disabled and you have to do everything manually. This is not only uncomfortable to program but also highly error prone.Nash wrote: Oh and hardware shaders = niiiiiiiiiiiiiice... Graf will we get to make our own custom shaders?
