Dear GZDoomers,
since I have updated to the latest version of GZDoom (and it doesn't matter anymore if I backup to a previous version) I got a very strange bug with it. Each time I start it, it immediately crashes and brings me back to the Desktop without any error message or error log. Very strange indeed. I already tried it in any other directory, same problem and I even deleted my ini files and tried again, no solution Any ideas?
I had that happen when I switched out my ATI for an nVidia. I thought it was a card problem, but when I deleted all the GZDoom files (pk3s and all) and updated (as I was using the previous version) all worked well. Maybe try complete reinstallation of GZDoom?
*UPDATE*
It absolute doesn't matter where I install GZDoom and where I put the whole IWads and stuff, it always crashes under the same circumstances. No Error Message, no Log, just back to the Desk
I was about to suggest rechecking your textures WAD or perhaps even your PWAD for corruption, but your log says that you are trying to load only doom2.wad. Maybe your doom2.wad is corrupted or something?
Does loading any other IWADs help? Plutonia or Strife or Heretic or whatever?
Other than that, I really don't know what the problem is. Maybe something you installed recently has screwed up your system or something.
I didn't change anything on my video drivers or something that might have to cause the problem at all. Every other 3D-Graphics powered game runs perfect without any flaws or faults. I tried different wads, doom2.wad, hexen.wad, strife1.wad, heretic.wad, tnt.wad and so on but each time the same problem. With ZDoom.exe, everything runs perfect.
Backing up about 90GB on DVDs would take some time and reinstalling all the stuff for my windows as well Isn't there any other solution? Where does GZDoom save its temporary files? Or INIs?

If that's the only thing that will fix your problem, you have no other choice. Better get started than sit around and do nothing, hoping and praying the problem to go away and have your progress hindered because you can't run GZDoom anymore. By the looks of it, this is one of those "WTF" problems that's not easy to detect.
