[1.0.24] Potential savegame loss

If saving the game fails for any reason, GZDoom hangs, leaving the save file empty.

It happened on Z1M8 of KDiZD, a very large and very detailed map, but I've been unable to reproduce it since, even on Deus Vult. So more likely it tried to access the hard drive at a very bad time.

Same thing happened to me in ZDoom in KZiZD... Only it was on an earlier map... My savegame ended up being a completely empty file. Unfortunately, I didn't save the crash dump...

Sorry to bump, but this seems to keep happening in 1.0.29. Playing CC2 at map 15, trying to save, the game froze and have to be closed by ctrl alt del or methods like that. Then when restart GZDdoom my savegame is no longer there.

I haven't found a single reproducable cause for crashes during saving.

However, if it crashes there the data is lost, there's nothing I can do about that.

Yeah, well, then maybe is more a system specific problem. That same problem happened (as mentioned in the above posts) in KDIZD; in Z1M1 everytime I saved at certain specific point of the level. I had to play KDIZD under zdoom to be able to finish it. But I only see 2 post about that problem here, so seems like is a very specific problem. Too bad.

This might be a different problem, but it appears to be releated. I was playing UTNT and I saved my game near the flaming tower. However, instead of hanging, the game crashed with a report. The savegame file didn't work afterwards. Here is the report (1.0.29):

I'm quite certain that this one is already fixed. I remember the crash address.
