[r770] sound trouble with Paranoid
Starting out in map01, it appears that every sound track is playing all at once, when only the machine noise should be heard, as with r769 or r768.

This got fixed in ZDoom, but the change has not made it to GZDoom yet.

I don't quite understand how this problem is manifesting itself (i.e., what you're hearing). For example, when I play the map the start area only has the tech-hum sound and I hear nothing else.NeoHippo wrote:Starting out in map01, it appears that every sound track is playing all at once, when only the machine noise should be heard, as with r769 or r768.
[EDIT: Ah, I get it. You're reporting an issue with a new version of G/ZDooM, not with Paranoid. Sorry about the confusion.]

Re: [r770] sound trouble with Paranoid
I noticed while running around in my random dungeon project as well - with hundreds of demons running around the map, the sound constantly gets cut off, probably due to sound channel overload.
If I do a "kill monsters", I get a LOUD ASS MASS of death sounds that could almost blow my speakers out.

It still sounds (ahem) like the same bug that has now been fixed. The main symptom seemed to be that if you were stationary, sounds were played at full volume regardless of how close you were to the source of the sound. As soon as you moved, the sound would revert to the volume it was meant to be (making some sounds seem as if they were cut off).

Does this still happen? Apparently Randy already fixed it, if he did it should have already been backported to GZDoom.

It was fixed in r771. I see you've gotten write access as well now!

Sorry - I am not completely aware of everything which is affected, and in turn must be updated after some ZDoom updates.
