MD3S Without PK3s?

Post by Boingo the Clown »

Is it possible to implement an MD3 model without adding it to a PK3 file?

I am just starting to experiment with models, so I do not know much about implementing them yet.

No. Models require paths and extensions. They don't work in WADs. It would have been too messy.

For the moment, would they work if they were just placed in subdirectories of my GZDooM directory?

Why don't you want to put the models in a pk3? I can see any reason for this.

Just for testing purposes. It is easier to test something when you don't have to rebuilt the file every time.

A PK3 is a ZIP. Many archive software allow you to add files to a ZIP without rebuilding it entirely. I know WinRAR does.
